Our Position

Arise and Live Church believes that the ascended Christ gives diverse ministry gifts to His people for the equipping of the saints and the building up of His body. We recognize elders and deacons as the ordinary governing and serving offices of the local church. We also seek to identify and develop apostolic or missionary, prophetic, evangelistic, shepherding, and teaching capacities among our members. All ministry operates under the authority of Scripture, within the accountability of the local church, and under the oversight of its elders.

 

Why Order and Accountability Matter

For the church to remain faithful and healthy, every ministry role must operate under the authority of Scripture, be recognized and evaluated within the believing community, and reflect the humble, servant-hearted character of Jesus Christ. When grounded in sound doctrine, exercised with spiritual maturity, and directed toward equipping the saints, the fivefold ministry gifts can strengthen the church and advance its mission without producing disorder, self-promotion, or theological confusion.

Ephesians 4:11–16

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”
