Originally born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with an upbringing affected by being a military dependent. Derick has become accustomed to living among and connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. He earned his Bachelors degree of Criminal Justice from the University of West Georgia where he also was a part of the university football team and where he met his wife Amber. During his time at West Georgia he became a follower of Christ in the Summer of 2014 as the gospel was shared with him through the faithful leadership of Campus Outreach, a college student led ministry.

Being a collegiate athlete and later serving as a juvenile correctional officer produced several challenges that helped cultivate a heart for connecting people in community and stirred up a desire of connecting with people across the nations and locally for the gospel sake. 

Now a faithful husband to Amber and devoted father of two children, Derick serves in construction as an electrician where he continues to establish connections with people from all different walks of life.

Motivated by a genuine love for Gods people, Derick has a strong desire and passion for Christian apologetics and to serve in helping the gospel go forth locally and globally.
